Social Networks

Will social networking be the end of search engine optimization? Doubtful but it is highly possible that we will start to see more and more progress made on the social networking front. Will social networking cause Internet marketing professionals to rethink the services they provide their clients? Absolutely!
It is to easy today to create an account with any hundred or more social networks, write some relevant content and add a link or two to your profile page of that social network. Why bother with hunting down link partners when only maybe one out of every 100 requests will be approved? Finding quality relevant websites to establish partnerships or arrangements with is an extremely time consuming process and most people don’t care for it much. Plus it is well known that Google likes natural links and not reciprocal or paid links. Soon enough Google will devalue these links to a point where they are simply not worth the struggles and efforts to obtain and manage.
Writing content about a product or service should come easy for most people if they are passionate about what they have to offer. Writing content on a weekly basis for one, two or even three social networks will allow you to add a link or two within the content to your primary website. This content would be considered relevant to your website if your website is within the same topic scope of your social network activity postings. Search engines will pick up on this content and the links within it and you’ll get some authentic link love.
It is HIGHLY important that you are committed to social networking when you get involved. Social networking is all about involvement and it is pretty easy to make a bad name for yourself when all you are doing is creating a ton of social network profiles with nothing useful to offer but a link to your primary website. Be sure that you have the time to put into this marketing strategy and if you don’t then consider hiring a content writer to write professional copy for you.
If you are serious about involving yourself with the success of your website and social network marketing then below is a list of social networks I’ve started collecting. You’ll want to save this list of social networks page on my Internet marketing blog because it will be updated as I find additional resources to add to it. Others, including yourself if you’d like, will contribute to this page by including social networks in comments. When I get these comments I’ll review the social network and then approve the comment with the information.
